Glad to have you. Uh, we’re gonna talk to Doug Chico about his candidacy,

Republican candidate for United States Congress, District 1, and get into the issues uh in the few right after this message.

Doug Chico. We’re here to find out why you want to be our next United States Congressman. Give it to us. Where you

from? What’s your background and why you doing this?

Well, Jean, uh, well, so I’m running for US Congress in the first district here in Florida because I’m frankly very concerned for my daughter’s future and the daughter of our country overall.

We’re in a bad spot right now and I’m afraid unfortunately if the radical Dems come back into power, things are going to get even worse. So, as for my background, I am from District One,

unlike censorship Jimmy Petronis, who’s not. He’s from District 2. Um, I’m a Christian, a patriot, a former Navy officer, attended the US Naval Academy.

We’re a sixth generation Northwest Florida family. I was born at the Navy Hospital here in Pensacola locally back when they delivered babies uh back in

the day. and my daughter was born here as well. So, we have deep roots in Northwest Florida and this is our home and uh we’re ready to fight for it.

You know, the last um election, which was technically a special election, was um as a result of former US Congressman

Matt Gates stepping away. Uh he was consider considered by Donald Trump at

the time for attorney general. uh the Congress itself, not Donald Trump,

seemed to have nixed that opportunity for Matt Gates and he resigned anyways and um never got the attorney

generalship at the same either. Uh but what it did is it forced a special election and there were nine uh 10

candidates overall on the Republican side as alone running for this um this uh seat encompassing the four counties

of the panhandle. Uh uh how many opponents do you have and why are you running?

So I’m focused on censorship, Jimmy. I say that because he’s trying to censor social media with the bill he’s pushing right now. Uh, it’s going to be a three-man race. The incumbent, another

gentleman who dropped dropped out and endorsed Jimmy Petronis the last time.

So, I’m the anti-establishment Republican in the race. I only decided to run back in October. Is I didn’t have long-term ambitions, Gene. Um, I’m

running because our country needs a real leader, someone that’s going to stand up and fight back against this corrupt polit political machine. You know, in

the in the military, I’ve managed uh billions of assets, $2.6 billion. Uh,

I’ve led, you know, men and women in active duty. And, you know, I’m a man of faith. We need someone to go up to DC with Christian values, with Northwest

Florida values that’s actually going to fight and do what they’re do what they’re going to say they’re going to do and follow the Constitution and not sell

out. Because unfortunately, we have a lot of folks going to DC. They say all the right things, but then they get there and then they don’t walk the walk.

I’m not about that. I’m here to fight for the country.

They say when you get to DC, uh, there seems to be a whole another agenda that even the the most, uh, formidable

candidates that that get elected, those that win, find a culture in DC that

prevents the not only you, but the normal, well-intended soul from getting some of these agenda items completed uh,

for the people that hired you. Uh, are you are you getting any input on issues of concern when you get there and what

it’s going to take to accomplish your agenda?

I I have. And so on that issue, I will say what saves America is single issue bills. We’ve had enough of this omnibus

uh crap, if you will, because what happens is both parties kind play this game. I I’m up against a uni party system. So obviously I’m a Republican.

I’m on the right, but not all Republicans are created equal. We’ve got too many darn rhinos up in DC. And uh we need to focus on singleissue bills and

focusing on what’s right for the American people and what’s right for Northwest Florida. Once again, I want to represent the people of the panhandle.

And I take that term seriously. I’m going to represent you. Um I’m not here to line my own pocketbook. Too many folks go up there. They’re focused on

insider trading, backroom deals, and just, you know, getting involved in the corruption. Um, I’m running because we’re in the ninth inning and I’m We

have to save this country. I’m here to save America or help save it because one man can’t do it all, Jean. You know that. But we have to start somewhere.

Yeah. Let’s talk uh about immigration enforcement and the reforms that you’re you you put on your platform. Can the US

realistically enforce current immigration laws and pursue meaningful reform at the same time? or does one

inevitably find themselves um uh uh in a situation where one is undermining the other.

That’s a great question and we absolutely can. There just has to be the political will to do so. So under my policy um which is ICE which is

immigration enforcement reform, civil liberties and effective affordability on the I part for immigration we have to debank all 65 million plus illegals.

Stop funding the NOS’s that facilitate this mess. Unfortunately, both parties choose to continue to fund those NOS’s. Start taxing foreign remittances at 90%.

At your local Walmarts, we have illegal aliens sending back billions of dollars.

If we cut off the money supply, many of them will self-epport by the millions.

And over the long term, the taxpayer will save trillions of dollars. And then we need to start enforcing the laws for these employers. So this is what I

propose. find the worst offender in the S&P 500 index and you take 25 ICE agents and you perpwalk him out of his mansion

at 6:00 a.m. with 25 ICE officers on national news. It will send a message,

hire Americans, hire legal labor. And then on the reform part, you know, we’ve got a broken visa system. Many of the folks here illegally actually they

didn’t cross the border. They flew in on a visa and they just decide to overstay and then they just disappear into

civilization. We if other countries can have a system that tracks this, we certainly can too. And if we’re going to fix this country and save it, we need to

take these bold steps and and move forward.

Well, that kind of touches on something I was interested in getting into with you. uh and that is um should veterans

be given uh I’m talking veterans. I meant to say is is the real issue at the the border or a

border failure of enforcement uh a failure of policy design or a political incentive to keep the problem unsolved?

Well, Gene, I hate to say it, but that last point stands out uh pretty pretty strongly. Unfortunately, recently the establishment Republican party has come

out and said, “We’re no longer interested in mass deportations,” which is the base honestly is pretty fed up.

I’ve spoken with thousands of local voters or likely GOP voters in Northwest Florida and they want mass deportations.

But unfortunately, I feel like the donor class has gotten a hold of the political system and has too much influence. And you know how we can address that? I I

know this going to segue from immigration. We have to shorten the campaign cycle because if politicians have to constantly raise money,

there’s more influence to be had from external forces. If we can shorten it to a month, 3 weeks, a couple months, that will lower the amount of capital needed

to run, that will reduce the impact of special interest potentially, and we can get more candidates to run in on the GOP side. Because right now, often times

it’s only the rich and the elite that can run for public office.

Well, that opens up an interesting con uh comment on a few other areas. Let me let me pivot for a second on veterans

affairs. Why does the United States consistently rank among the best in the military capability worldwide? We’ve always felt that that was true anyways,

but at the same time, we seem to struggle to deliver timely uh highquality care through the VA system.

uh where’s the breakdown and how are you going to address this?

So uh the MI Eisenhower again as a former military officer I support a strong national defense. I support our

military but however you know these big uh there’s been a lot of consolidation in the defense industry. We should look

at that. And also uh all these big defense companies they have offices in every single congressional district. And

don’t think for a second that’s not on purpose. So I would say that there’s not an active and powerful lobby group for veterans like you have in the defense

industry. So my proposal is for every veteran that’s eligible for VA healthcare to expand upon the existing

community care network so you can go out in town and see the doctor of your choosing. Out here at the veterans clinic or the VA clinic in uh Pensacola,

you have to wait 129 days to see a podiatrist, three months to see a primary care doctor. That’s unacceptable. Open up community care,

let folks go see uh the doctor of their choice and get the care they deserve.

Well, that’s interesting. I came out of the insurance industry myself years ago and I know firsthand that uh allowing

the vets to get uh care through the primary care system, the private care system of uh as for primary care is

absolutely essential in maybe taking the burdens off the V VA system. But I do think that uh I’m not talking in terms

of abandoning a VA system. Uh but I would support your initiatives in trying to broaden the availability of access

for the veteran. Is that where you’re going?

Absolutely. I’m not trying to replace what the VA does currently because they provide an invaluable service. In fact,

they’re a backup health care system as we saw during COVID. um if those hospitals were were failing due to a pandemic, the VA would step up. Now, I

don’t think they wouldn’t be able to support, you know, they can’t support veterans as it is, but um they do play a critical role, but we need to find that

balance of of giving people freedom to go see the doctor of their choice out in town and not waiting 3 months and still giving the the VA the funding they need

to provide those critical services. is not everyone’s gonna want to go out in town, but I’m about I’m about giving veterans the choice they deserve.

You know, one of the big concerns I’ve had for a while has been the um has been the accessibility

accessibility overall. But you’re not saying that the veterans should uh should be given broader access to

private health care options as the solution u and that it would probably weaken the VA system at the same time.

Uh that was originally meant to serve them. Are you So I’m I’m saying we should expand upon

so on the east coast it’s optimum serve which is run under United Health. I would want to expand the community care

network so if anybody is eligible for the VA health care system they can go out in town if they want to. Yeah. And

to your to your point, I think it’s so important that we look, these are the veterans who have already given limbs of their life, of

their body to Americans, protecting the American liberties and freedoms we enjoy. My concern is is that if anything, they should be advantaged.

What seems to be the problem today is that they’re being disadvantaged.

Absolutely. And the same thing with their active duty personnel. If we’re going to be fighting these foreign wars,

we should not be cutting VA benefits. We should not be cutting military benefits.

Right now, actually, active duty personnel only get 95% of their expected housing allowance. So, it’s called BAH.

We used to get 100% of our expected rent. They’ve cut it down to 95%. So, in some high cost of living areas, those

junior enlisted personnel in our military could be paying out of pocket for their rent. That’s unacceptable. We need to restore full housing allowances for every single service member.

You know, you’ve there’s so many issues to address. We’re we’re in in the middle of a war with Iran, uh which is when

this broadcast is being recorded. We are uh uh trying to protect our oil supplies

both domestically and abroad. We see what it’s done to um China and Russia.

Iran today, Venezuela a few weeks ago,

and tomorrow, who knows, we may have a 51st state before if you’re in Congress, and that might be Cuba.

So, uh, but but we’re talking about civil liberties. Everyone’s really coming into this nation because they

want a piece of the wonderful pie. How we get here though has been our discussion up to now and we we both

agree in the SAVE act as a methodology of trying to do it legally. But in an era of national security and threats and

digital surveillance, where should we draw the line between safety uh and

these and these personal freedoms we treasure?

So Jean, that’s a great question. So uh there’s been a mission creeped. Our god-given rights have been eroded over the decades by big government and big

tech. So I would say our founding fathers were brilliant. They were brilliant to write the bill of rights in our constitution. However, they could

have never envisioned artificial intelligence, biometrics, modern surveillance, and facial recognition. So

to bridge that gap and finish what our founders started, I propose we implement a digital bill of rights to protect every American in the digital age.

uh that deserves more more uh conversation. What do you mean by that?

So we have to find a line because uh companies like Flock Safety currently they was rolled out actually Flock is the reason that I got started running for US Congress. So uh in Pensacola,

Florida, the mayor DC Reeves rolled out this Chinese style AI surveillance system where you know it’s it’s not

locally run. It transmits data to 5,000 local law enforcement agencies at the local level and then federal agencies.

So what it does, it scans every dent,

every scratch, every unique identifier for your car and they get your name from your license tag. It goes to a national

database where again big government as a whole can access all of your information, track you your hometown and then track you as you move across the

country. It’s not just a Pensacola system. It’s you’ve got between 56,000 and over 90,000 these AI powered cameras

across 49 states and they scan they do 20 billion scans every month. I’ll say that again. 20 billion scans. This is a

massive control grid. And this is what I’m afraid of. The crazy Democrats have already shown in in California they want to tax us for every mile we drive. This

flock system is the infrastructure that allows that to happen. And that’s not a conspiracy. Look what’s happening over in the UK. They’re already using similar

technology in Oxford to do the exact same thing. Conversely, unfortunately,

57 Republicans in the House voted with every Democrat to mandate a government kill switch in all new vehicles after

2026 and have other types of uh surveillance systems and and and sensors inside our cars. Have we lost our mind?

Whatever happened to constitutional freedom? That’s why I’m running.

Immigration is a crisis. Absolutely. But if we don’t stand up for our God-given rights, by golly, we’re going to lose this country.

Do we have the will? Do you, the congressman of the United States, have the will to protect us from what I would

call government overreach. It’s a magical line. In one sense, we want regulation and restrictions and um guard

rails put in place as to how far some of these technologies go, but the other side of it is if we don’t do something

AI at the top of the list, uh we’re going to fall behind our adversaries.

That’s a great question. So, currently we have 10x the number of data centers that the Chinese do. Yet, the Chinese are continuing to kick our butt in AI.

I’m I’m thinking why are we building all these data centers? Are we building a bigger control grid? Are we actually trying to catch up with the Chinese? I’m

absolutely for developing artificial intelligence for national defense purposes. Absolutely. We can use that for healthare. We can bring down the

cost of legal services. The applications are unlimited virtually. And also we can bring down the cost of government. So

that’s where we’re headed. But we need guardrails in the system because otherwise we’re going to wind up just like China. You know, they have a

constitution too, Gene. It was ratified in 1982. Guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of assembly. Unfortunately,

I feel like with AI and modern tech,

we’re speedr running towards a Chinese style society where there’s virtually no freedom for that flock system. I’m going to ask your viewers to consider this.

Would you allow about a million people to know the location of your children at all times instantly?

Because that’s basically what this system does because it pings you every time you drive past these cameras and transmits it everywhere. And as we get artificial intelligence coming in,

you see where this is headed.

I’d like to know where 20 million illegals are. How about that?

Well, here’s the thing. If we started taking uh my policy seriously and cut off the funding, they will self-deport

Gan. But again, I’m afraid the donor class has way too much power.

You’ve got cheap labor involved and the Democrats want amnesty and they want to create a one party system by eventually giving these folks amnesty. So which what’s your pivot on you a bit?

What’s your definition of a Democrat versus a Republican? I guess I’m asking you to create a stereotype. I’m interested in in having the public see

whether their impression of a Democrat versus a Republican is consistent with yours.

So again, I would say I’m up against more of a uni party system because again on on these certain issues, both parties tend to march together, unfortunately.

But the Democrats have moved so far left. Go back to the 1990s, early 1990s,

and look at their platform. It is almost identical to what President Trump won on in 2015 and 2016. That’s how far the

radical left has gone. Give you an example. President Trump asked all the Democrats and Republicans to stand if they believe that American citizens were more important than illegal immigrants.

Every single Democrat remained seated. I think that tells an important story.

Right now, I’ve had a grave concern about affordability. this affordability crisis is being talked about uh in

Congress right now. Uh it’s more of a matter of government policy in one sense like regulation and

spending or is this a concern of yours by market forces uh or which really goes

beyond Washington DC’s control? Which way do you believe affordability should

be managed? more by incentives and and um disincentives that government can set

policy for or do you think government should come in and actually regulate what’s affordable or not? Should Joe

Biden go in and change the oil price or should he create incentives to making oil more affordable?

So inflation is is caused by two factors. The US Federal Reserve, we need to end the Fed period. We didn’t have sustained inflation before the creation

of the US Federal Reserve in 1913. And that’s according to the US Federal Reserve. Back in the 1800s, you would have periods of inflation, but then

longer periods of deflation that would cancel that out. And it was deflation that built our middle class. So the the constant expanding money supply is what

is destroying our currency. So between the US Congress spending over $184 trillion, it’s more now because we spend

more every day since 1960 and the US Federal Reserve by facilitating this reckless deficit spending. That is what

has destroyed our currency. Just go look at the price of gold since 1971 since we left the gold standard. So, I have a couple univi innovative ideas to tackle

this crisis because once again, if people can’t feed themselves and feed their kids, they will accept whatever tyranny big tech and big government

throws their way. So, start tying congressional salaries to deficit spending. Let’s say 3%. If you go over

3% of GDP for your deficit, maybe we take uh a 30% pay cut pay cut in the House and the Senate. Just an idea. We

have to get spending under control. And in terms of our energy policy, I’ll go into that. If you go to countries like Saudi Arabia, you actually see really cheap gas prices. And here’s the thing.

When we say drill, baby drill, and I’m all for energy dominance. I really am.

But we export almost all of that petroleum overseas to realize higher profits for big oil. Maybe we should have a frank conversation about keeping more of that petroleum back here,

building up our refinery reserves, and actually driving prices lower at the pump. Because I’ll tell you what, Jean,

people are hurting at the grocery store to afford basic food for their kids.

Obviously, gas prices are exploding. The cost of health care, college education.

We should get the government out of college education, backing all these loans because that’s what’s jacking up the cost of tuition. Get the government out of way, out of the way. Cut

regulations for small farmers. We need to make farmtotable a a real thing and not just a saying. uh enforce antitrust

on these four big meat packaging companies. Let’s back our small ranchers out there.

Again, when my family settled in Northwest Florida in the 1800s, we were farmers and we were ranchers. So, that that runs in my blood. I want to support

those folks, but we need to get government out of the way, cut regulation, cut taxes, and certainly cut spending to rein in this uh

affordability crisis. Um there just a few ideas that we have to take a look at. But if we don’t attack affordability, Gene,

we’re going to look like a Latin America with a world of a country of halves and have nots. And unfortunately, the middle class is dying already, I’m afraid.

Yeah. But you can do that through um incentives and disincentives uh in the marketplace and letting the forces of

supply and demand control the entrepreneur, the businessman who the one who’s really got, you know, skin in

the game. Uh he or she should be able to control that those forces uh with

parameters of their own choosing. uh as opposed to a government coming in and trying to regulate it or control pricing, I think is what you’re saying.

Is that not Yes. I’m I’m a free market guy, but as an American first patriot, um if it if

it takes restricting oil exports and and building up our our industrial base for refining, I’m willing to have that conversation.

Oh, sure. We did it. We’re doing it with tariffs, which have no economic factor when government uses it. its tariffs

were intended to uh promote a political position or posture in one direction or

or another with our foreign friends or foes and we do it for a reason. We turn that spigot on and off based on what

we’re trying to achieve. The marketplace itself works off different dynamics on that. I think that’s what you’re saying. Folks, we’re talking with Doug Chico,

candidate for United States Congress and the Republican party. How many others running against you again? What did you say? So, it’s going to be a three-man race.

I’m focused on censorship Jimmy and uh but the the race there’s a crowded field, but it’s really three serious candidates. Um I call him censorship

Jimmy because again, he’s looking to censor social media right now. He’s never passed a bill, Gene. Never. He’s

never even bothered to obtain a single co-sponsor up there to pass a bill. But he did have time to suppress all records of sexual harassment up in DC. And when

they pay out those claims, they’re paid with taxpayer money. Talk about government corruption at its finest.

Do you know about his background as a CFO under Ronda Santis?

Yes, I would say he’s pretty close to the insurance industry in Florida. So people can look up that and check out his Wikipedia. He’s got a long laundry

list on Wikipedia, but I won’t go into that too deeply.

coming November. Doug, welcome to have welcome back and I want to bring you into uh let you take the ball. First of

all, your background. Let’s talk about um uh uh your faith and uh are you pro-life or pro-choice?

I’m I’m pro-life. Absolutely. Abortion is murder. I took the opportunity to go up to DC to personally march and the National March for Life. And just seeing those images of babies being aborted,

especially late term, is just makes your blood boil. Um if you’re any type of,

you know, human uh that just it just it’s just something else. It’s basically human sacrifice. And I don’t know why

the radical left um seems to worship at the altar of of this death cult. Whether it’s abortion or assisted suicide, um

it’s it’s terrible. This is this is all what happens when we take God out of out of society, God out of the culture, and God out of schools. It’s replaced by this um just evil, frankly.

Well, you have deep family roots here in the panhandle. Um what’s you’re in Pensacola in particular or Scambia County?

Yes, sir. That’s correct. All right. Talk about your uh career. What are you doing? What were you doing?

So, um I served uh nine years as a Navy officer. Um I started out uh actually here locally at flight school. I had the

opportunity to transfer to become a Navy supply corps officer. I headed up to Newport, Rhode Island for my training.

Had the opportunity to actually go up there during the summertime for training. So, that worked out perfectly.

The weather was magnificent. Uh no humidity, no bugs, so it was a nice break from Florida. But I I came back

down, reported to the USS Ewima. Uh there I was the uh sales officer, the wardroom officer, and the actually only

commissioned food service officer for any big deck ship in the Navy. Typically that position is reserved for an experienced warrant officer, but uh she

broke her leg. So I stepped up to manage a couple million dollars worth of food.

Um, from that point, actually before I left the ship, I was the lead supply officer attached to the crisis action team responding to Hurricane Irma a after it smashed Key West. So, uh,

Governor Rick Scott had put out a call for all Navy ships to deliver any fresh water they had on station. It just so happens my all my storooms as a supply

officer on the EWO were filled with fresh water, bottled water from the year before. So, went ahead and delivered that in. And I’ll tell you, it was an

honor to serve American citizens on our home soil and especially the people of my home state. And for my last duty station, I reported to the Naval

Education Training Command where I managed uh $2.6 billion in military equipment spanning worldwide for every

Navy training, education, and recruiting command. Um I reported to his twostar admiral and also was responsible for

evacuating all military students from the Pensacola area if we did get hit by a hurricane. And in Florida, you know,

unfortunately those do happen once in a while. Um, after that, I uh left and uh well, I left during the COVID madness

under the Biden regime and uh they were forcing the vax on everybody and when they were about to mandate the booster after seeing what they had done to some

of my some of my classmates from the Naval Academy, especially for folks over in the Navy Special Warfare Committee or Navy Seals. Um I told my chain of

command, I rocked the boat on this. I’m getting out. Um I’m not getting that shot. I’m not getting the booster. Um,

they didn’t end up mandating it, but I put vaccine refusal on my paperwork. And I’ll tell you what, Jean, if you put that on your paperwork when you’re

getting out of the military and you work for a twostar admiral at that level, it certainly rocks the boat. And I got some serious push back. Um, my end tour of

ward at the command was downgraded and u there was just, you know, negative repercussions for me doing that. But

now today Yeah. And now today, Doug, it seems you made the right decision. Uh, a

lot of people are uh are backing off any uh penalties or and Donald Trump is at

the top of the list and trying to make sure that no penalties are are imposed on people who chose not to take the vax.

It’s a shame we had such a socialistic autocratic uh dictatorial approach to the imposition of this vaccine mandate.

It’s caused problems in so many ways throughout the nation. And the word mandate by government in that sense is

consistent with uh tariffs and fees and policies and regulations. Which is why I’m asking you what side of the fence

you’re on, especially uh when um when uh disciplines of management and uh

authority are so important within a within the military, which is where you came from.

No, we shouldn’t have any mandates for vaccines. It’s just especially on the military side, especially if it it was not FDA approved. Um the way they rolled

that out and forced it on everybody, not only in the military, but over in the private sector, it was just unacceptable. Um again, technically, it

wasn’t even a vaccine. They changed the definition to so it qualify. And that was just a terrible time for our country. Um we can’t go back to that

era. On the private sector side, uh national sales director for F3 Defense.

We sell less than lethal uh law enforcement equipment to uh local law enforcement. Uh it’s pepper spray systems that you can put on military ve

or military grade vehicles and police cruisers. So the idea is if you get mobbed by Antifa, you can with one touch of a button, you can do a 360 degree

pepper spray dispersement to get those um you know crazy leftist if you will off your vehicle. So, and

not as a a sales director in this capacity. So,

very interesting. Okay. In the last few minutes, uh give me a summary of um your position, why you’re running again, and

um if you could have it perfectly your way. Where would you like to see America going?

Absolutely. So, I’m a father that’s very concerned for the my daughter’s future.

I’m afraid she’s not going to have the same freedoms and opportunities that I did when I was growing up. And I don’t want to look her in the eye in 5 years,

Gan, and say, “Sorry, honey. We lost our country. We’ve got 65 million plus illegal immigrants that have to go home.

The Republican party has come out and said, “We’re not serious about mass deportations. Stop talking about it.”

I’m sorry, but I’m not going to just tow the party line. I’m going to do what’s best for the people of Northwest Florida and the what’s best for the American

public. These people have to go home. My plan, my comprehensive plan gets that done. On the civil liberties front, we

have to defend the Constitution. We can’t let these big tech companies destroy our Bill of Rights. And that should be a bipartisan issue. On the

effective affordability front, we have to defend the American dream. We have to get serious about bringing down gasoline

cost. My plan does that. And I think we should take a hard look at trying to save this country because Gan, if we

don’t take bold action, if we don’t take actions that will lose us some donations as, you know, contributions for big business, we will lose this country.

Yeah.

We have to get these folks out. We have to tackle civil liberties and def defend civil liberties.

I’m really worried about the direction we’re headed right now, which is why I’m running.
