So, New York Attorney General Letitia James was part of this legal challenge that led to the latest ruling. She says the new ballot measures are about rigging the rules of the elections. Check this out.

This is nothing more than an attempt to suppress the right to vote.”

It’s predictable. So, Gene, I’ll start with you. Why are Democrats so aggressively opposing this new Post Office mail-in ballot measure here?

Because they don’t want us to see them with their hands in the cookie jar. The fact of the matter is this is an attempt to distinguish between election fraud… and it’s really an issue of the confidence we as Americans have in the system itself. The mail-in ballot process is but one of a few factors in the election reform that’s necessary and captured with the SAVE America Act, which must pass.

Yeah. Donald, talk more about this, because this to me feels as if it’s the President trying to secure elections. But why don’t they view it that way?

Well, I think there’s some benefit to having a lack of uniformity across the country, and that’s something that the Democrats want. They want to be able to use the USPS without any sort of rules or regulations on security, transparency, or accuracy. And so I think that this has been the genesis of their opposition to it. I think that the President obviously can direct a federal agency to develop rules of the road for using the USPS—we do it with all aspects of life. And I think it’s pretty important to provide these benefits to voters who are going to be using the postal service with their ballot.

So T.W., I’d love to get your thoughts on this. You know, the Democrats are always talking about free and fair elections and whatnot, but now we’re actually trying to enforce that and they’re freaking out.

I mean, listen, there is a way that this measure is going to suppress votes, and it’s to suppress the vote of dead people and illegal aliens! Why in the world would a party be standing behind a measure that would actually give integrity to our voting process? Listen, this is what the Democrats have done for a long time.
And “Big Tish,” you know, she made it very clear when she was running for election here in New York that her number one goal was to go after Donald Trump, and she’s held true to that. This is what that’s all about. But ultimately, the American people see through it. There is a difference between general mail-in ballots and ballots where people vote absentee, where we allow military personnel and so forth to vote. But the Democrats are trying to skew that issue. Ultimately, though, we cannot have a republic if we don’t have a belief and an integrity in our voting system, and that’s what Republicans are going after. Dead people shouldn’t be voting.

Right. And I like the point about uniformity as well. So let’s move on to this a little bit. Bill, I want to ask you: the DOJ is preparing to monitor the midterms. U.S. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon weighed in on Newsmax. Let’s play that.

Well, I mean, we have to monitor the election. You go back to the 2020 election, and it’s interesting how anybody who claimed any kind of fraud was shut down, canceled, sued, etc. Now you’ve got Democrats saying they’re trying to steal the election and that the elections are rigged. The hypocrisy is amazing.
But I think—and T.W. brought this up—with the SAVE Act… I don’t know that the SAVE America Act is going to pass; I’m actually thinking it is most likely not going to get through. So this is the President and the Department of Justice saying, “Okay, we’re not going to have the legislative tool, but we certainly can make sure that only registered voters get mail-in ballots. We can certainly make sure that nobody is stuffing any boxes or slipping something in the back door.” So this is a very, very positive step. Again, it’s the common-sense thing.

Common sense, right? Gene, Donald, I do want to circle back to you for your final thoughts. Same question to both of you. Gene, you first: is this a good step towards protecting voter integrity? Is this necessary?

Yeah, national integrity is everything. We need to have secure elections so that we have a confident electorate that’s supporting our leadership, not an auto-pen running the shop.

Yeah. Donald, look, DOJ has done this for years. I’ve been in polling places—things run much more smoothly when there are monitors in the election polling places. It just seems like that phrase again: common sense. Just secure the elections.
