Principles Before Personalities … The Swamp is Frozen.

What do I mean by saying, “The swamp is frozen”? Kevin McCarthy has secured 90% of the Republican vote, yet 10% of the Republicans in the House is trying to derail the majority. The Pelosi regime has polluted every aspect of government including this process in selecting a House Leader.  Her vitriol has spread throughout the Democrat base.  No wonder the Republicans are so upset.  Congressmen Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, Byron Daniels, and others have gone negative against Kevin McCarthy.  These renegade congressmen are concerned McCarthy will not make the changes necessary in Congress through his speaker leadership to remedy the decades of wrongs created by the Democrats.  Some Republicans just don’t like him.  McCarthy is trying to reach out behind the scenes to find compromises.  But Republicans over the decades have been lied to, deceived, assaulted, shot, and abused in social settings.  In this way you cannot blame them for their hardline response right now.  These extreme Republicans are trying to ‘right the ship’, but their growing demands are unreasonable and obstructive. It’s not just about the agenda they want.  It’s about these 20 leveraging more power.  The ‘tail cannot wag the dog’.  Trump wants McCarthy.  Matt Gaetz wants Jim Jordan.  Why?  These Republicans have ‘shown their colors’.  Why ae they so upset with McCarthy?  They will see the consequences of their behavior in their next election.  At the end of the day this is healthy test for our Democracy.  It shows our deliberative process works. Our Democracy has been tested and is withstanding the pressures placed on it.  McCarthy’s approach is to allow for opinions and commentary different from his own.   Democrats don’t do that.  While it is true the Democrats/Pelosi never did that for the Republicans, it is also true that McCarthy is paying the price for doing the right thing by considering platforms, positions and wants other than his own.
