(0:14) Hi friends, Gene Valentino, I recently had the chance to sit with Ashley Leppert.

(0:26) Air Medal and a true American hero.

(0:29) Her first book, The Hurricane Within, was an award-winning document and now shows she’s

(0:36) back with volume number two called Beyond the Storm.

(0:40) Ashley’s courage, faith, and strength of character will inspire you.

(0:53) Check out the QR code down in the corner as well.

(0:56) Thanks for joining us.

(0:57) It’s now 7.34, we’re 26 minutes away from 8 o’clock in a special edition of The Morning

(1:03) Show This Morning.

(1:04) Michael Paul is joined by our good friend, Gene Valentino.

(1:08) Hey, good morning and good morning to you, Gene.

(1:11) Good morning, gentlemen.

(1:13) What a day.

(1:15) Yeah, you know, I’ll tell you something, Gene, we are, I just have knots in my stomach thinking

(1:20) about what happened yesterday to Charlie Kirk.

(1:22) And I know that you feel much the same way that I do.

(1:26) You had a response to this that you wanted to tell us about.

(1:32) So why don’t you go ahead and let’s just get started.

(1:36) Well, it’s a heavy day for America, and it’s no small coincidence things are converging

(1:44) at the same time.

(1:45) We put together a commentary for Newsmax yesterday, which ran about four minutes.

(1:50) If you have it available, you’re welcome to use it.

(1:54) It’s a capsulization of my comments, my feelings about what’s been going on with America.

(2:03) It’s time to defend our country or it’s gone.

(2:08) We’ve been in a silent war against a hostile element that simply wants to destroy America.

(2:16) Michael, we have to do something about it.

(2:19) And this isn’t an isolated event.

(2:23) Notwithstanding your prior guest, today marks the 24th anniversary of the opening salvo

(2:30) in a calculated war against Western civilization.

(2:35) We’ve got something the world envies, and so many are going to try to destroy it any

(2:41) way they can.

(2:44) At stake is our Western Christian legacy of reasoned and constitution-based individual

(2:54) liberties.

(2:56) We will only survive the envy-based barbarian onslaught by coming together, all of us as

(3:04) one nation, to protect and defend the constitutional republic from all these enemies.

(3:10) And the key term is foreign and domestic.

(3:16) We can chew gum and walk at the same time.

(3:19) We can honor and celebrate our losses, our heroes, our patriots from 9-11 24 years ago.

(3:29) But in the same breath, we experienced yesterday a political assassination of Charlie Kirk,

(3:39) who pushed young people to the polls, and even from Donald Trump’s point of view, was

(3:46) instrumental in the re-election of Donald Trump, garnering so much of the youth vote.

(3:54) We, I said this was a political assassination for a reason.

(4:01) We in America, unlike other nations, are experiencing something different because we’ve given

(4:08) license, we’ve given the right to freedoms of expression.

(4:14) But I think the freedoms of expression have gone too far.

(4:19) Your right to disagree with me does not include accosting me at the gas pump and shoving me

(4:28) around in a restaurant like Maxine Waters suggested we do.

(4:35) Your right does not include using a long-range rifle from a rooftop 200 yards away and taking

(4:46) me out or denying me the right to speak.

(4:50) Your right to object to what I have to say does not allow you to move to a level of violence

(5:00) or action against me, unless my words were actionable.

(5:05) Did I cause you to have to pull the trigger to come after me?

(5:10) No, I didn’t.

(5:11) I expressed an opinion then, as I do now, but I don’t think I’m stopping anybody from

(5:17) getting unglued and getting unglued to come after me.

(5:21) I’m just expressing what other nations of the world envy, the right of free speech.

(5:28) And it was denied yesterday to Charlie Kirk at 31 years of age.

(5:33) And the man stood up as a perfect example of maybe a future president of this nation.

(5:41) He stood up and re-energized the Gen Z crowd, the youngest of the crowd out there now, our

(5:49) future voters, our future leaders.

(5:52) It’s a shame what we’ve had to witness in plain view and, frankly, with more description

(6:03) than we need to see on national news.

(6:05) But the video of this yesterday was absolutely abhorrent, and it caused even Jason Chaffetz,

(6:12) an elected official and Fox News commentator, to lose his cool and break down on national TV.

(6:25) When the leaders of this nation cannot lead, what are we left with?

(6:32) We the people is the first three words in the Constitution, and it means we run the show,

(6:40) not a select few.

(6:43) And it’s now time to step up, take arms, if necessary, defend your family and your freedoms.

(6:54) You are not to be victim anymore of people who disagree with your opinion and then choose

(7:05) to exercise violence against you.

(7:08) It’s over.

(7:10) These Republican conservatives have experienced it in more recent years, going back to the

(7:16) fundraising event in the baseball field of Congress put on, where Congressman Steve Scalise

(7:25) was seriously injured and almost died, where other people were were accosted as well because

(7:32) they were Republicans, because they were conservatives.

(7:37) Are you kidding me?

(7:39) How many Democrats have died since that period of time from a gunman on a conservative Republican side?

(7:48) Not one I recall.

(7:50) The only exception might be John F. Kennedy, who was a Democrat, but he wasn’t taken by an American.

(7:59) He was taken by a foreign kook who might have been even complicit with a deeper state activity.

(8:07) But today and since that period of time, we have seen a complete attempt by what I would

(8:16) refer to as a deep state initiative.

(8:20) Their initiatives that we’ve talked about on these morning shows has been both a war

(8:27) that has been perpetrated on American conservativism from within the nation, while in parallel,

(8:36) we have been attacked from abroad.

(8:39) Thank God in holy heaven, a guy by the name of Donald Trump came along, Michael, to kick

(8:46) some ass and to set some of the crazies in line.

(8:50) Ashley’s the real deal.

(8:51) A United States Coast Guard helicopter pilot, a recipient of the Air Medal and a true American hero.

(8:59) Her first book, The Hurricane Within, was an award-winning document and now shows she’s

(9:06) back with volume number two called Beyond the Storm.

(9:10) Ashley’s courage, faith and strength of character will inspire you.

(9:15) Visit her website and get the latest updates on her new book and your chance to receive

(9:20) and win a free autographed copy.

(9:23) Your thoughts on this?

(9:25) You know, I wanted to say one thing, and that is we have seen nothing over the last 10 years

(9:30) except for hateful rhetoric.

(9:32) You know, you’re a Nazi if I disagree with you.

(9:34) This is the way the left operates.

(9:37) They dehumanize Republican operatives.

(9:41) The president of the United States, they suggest physical harm come to these people.

(9:49) And when you do that long enough and hard enough, you have crazies that come out.

(9:54) But I do believe, I don’t know why I believe this, just my gut tells me that this hit was

(10:01) professional.

(10:02) The way that this was done, 200 yards, it was someone who is very well trained, who has

(10:09) done this type of shot before.

(10:11) This is not somebody who just decided to grab a rifle and go take a shot.

(10:15) We still haven’t found the shooter.

(10:20) You know, it raises a lot of questions.

(10:23) And so, you know, the dehumanizing part is something we’ve got to put a stop to right

(10:28) now.

(10:29) We have to stop this.

(10:30) We have to stand up and say no, no more.

(10:34) No more can you freely sit out here and call me, Republicans, everybody else Nazis because

(10:41) they don’t believe what you believe.

(10:44) Here you have a nice young man who was a Christian, a good father, who wanted to just talk.

(10:54) He wanted to just talk, but they don’t want you to talk.

(10:59) They don’t want to hear what you have to say.

(11:02) They want to shut you up.

(11:04) And they shut him up yesterday for good, but they’ll never shut everybody up.

(11:10) And I think people are taking a different view this morning.

(11:13) What say you?

(11:15) Well, he’s created a legacy and he’s in the process now of being with the Lord and looking

(11:22) down upon all of us and praying that his successor carries the torch.

(11:29) We are all engaged in a war of good versus evil, whether we choose to like it or believe

(11:37) it.

(11:38) We are.

(11:39) We’ve got to pay attention to it and we’ve got to stop hiding our heads in the sand.

(11:45) How many times over the past decade and in the last five or six years you and I have

(11:51) been doing this, have we seen attacks on Republicans and conservatives evidence themselves in different

(11:59) ways at different times?

(12:00) Today, what I see is the culmination of a desperate left wing element, a social Marxist

(12:10) element with roots going back to communism that shows that there has been a deep state

(12:18) narrative to take over America from within.

(12:22) It is mandatory that every American citizen, every honorable citizen, every person who

(12:30) believes in the good of this constitution and this nation gets out and votes.

(12:35) These left Democrat, violent, radical Marxist thinkers out of office and prevents them from

(12:45) getting into office, starting with Mondami in New York, getting rid of AOC, Maxine Waters.

(12:56) You’ve got to go.

(12:57) You were the one encouraging people to take out others at a gas pump and to take them

(13:04) on and get in their faces while they’re eating dinner in a restaurant.

(13:09) You’ve you’ve you lefties have have incited violence.

(13:13) And then when we threw the counterpunch, we’re in trouble.

(13:18) Carry the gun if the law allows and defend yourself, because after watching this poor

(13:24) lady in New York City getting stabbed by another whack job, we see a perpetuation

(13:32) that that this extreme left violent is becoming a norm that immediately shifts to their defense

(13:40) of, well, there’s too many guns on the street and there’s too many too many other reasons

(13:46) they’re fighting for their rights.

(13:48) I’m done with this Black Lives Matter crap.

(13:51) Every life matters.

(13:53) And I want to make sure every life going forward is protected.

(13:56) And that means you start at home.

(13:58) You start with your family and open up your eyes and vote in a conservative, a responsible

(14:05) person who can take us to a new generation of Charlie Kirk thinking that was espoused

(14:12) when he was going from college campus to college campus, visiting the newest generation of

(14:20) voters and contributors to our nation.

(14:23) You know, does it strike you as odd that the very people who scream about guns in this

(14:30) country will actually go and pick one up to take out a Republican?

(14:37) Does it strike you as odd?

(14:40) Yeah, that which they oppose, they do.

(14:44) They remember my term divert, deflect and distract.

(14:48) We complain about it.

(14:51) The liberals will complain about it, but they’re doing it themselves.

(14:56) Look at what they did on the deep state side with with George Soros and Bill Gates and

(15:06) Zuckerberg in trying to undermine the future of this nation.

(15:10) I could go on.

(15:12) Yeah, I know you could.

(15:13) Thank you, Gene, for joining us and giving us your thoughts on this.

(15:16) A sad day yesterday.

(15:18) And we won’t forget this.

(15:20) Thank you. We’ll talk to you again soon.

(15:22) United we stand, divided we fall.

(15:25) We have just witnessed the loss of a new American hero, a person who has been a true

(15:34) contributor to what I would call the Gen Z crowd, the new generation, the crowd that

(15:40) we hope carries the torch into a new wave of success for our democracy.

(15:48) Charlie Kirk, at the age of 31, was assassinated by a gunman’s bullet from what

(15:55) appears to be a long range rifle on a Utah campus today.

(16:02) It’s no small coincidence that he was before a very conservative crowd speaking about the

(16:09) regeneration of American patriotism and the resurgence of our democracy, and that his

(16:17) message was being delivered to a conservative group at the university.

(16:22) Charlie Kirk represented to me the future of America and the future of democracy.

(16:29) He represented what we older folks are looking at as a commentary and a platform, what

(16:36) we used with him.

(16:37) He had his podcast.

(16:39) We have ours.

(16:41) But he represented that new generation.

(16:44) He believed in the notion that failure to defend the rights of other people may someday

(16:51) result in your rights not being defended.

(16:54) He was part of a legion of people that was trying to take America into a whole new

(17:00) realm. He was a patriot at the very least, and as President Trump said, he will be

(17:08) sorely missed as a leader within the conservative community.

(17:14) I can’t help but take pause at this moment and reflect.

(17:19) How many Democrat liberal activists have been shot lately?

(17:27) Compare that against how many Republican conservatives have been attempted to be

(17:36) murdered. Or seriously assaulted.

(17:41) I think you’ll see that the difference is now becoming clearer and clearer and that we

(17:46) as Americans need to put down some of the actionable, extreme political rhetoric and

(17:54) focus on a platform of communication between each other that Charlie Kirk espoused.

(18:02) Let’s talk, he said.

(18:04) Let’s work out our differences, he said.

(18:06) Let’s try to figure out the common ground.

(18:09) He was not a person that tolerated bad behavior.

(18:14) And when your actionable words become intolerable, more than offensive and rude,

(18:20) they become actionable.

(18:23) And people pick up arms and weapons and do harm to others.

(18:30) It’s unfortunate that someone found the need to shoot Charlie Kirk today and take his

(18:37) life at 31 years of age.

(18:39) It’s unfortunate that a wife with three children are being left behind to carry on

(18:46) the torch of what Charlie was doing.

(18:52) This does nothing but solidify a conservative action and movement across this nation

(19:00) to bring the morals and ethics of this nation, regardless of the platform of speech you

(19:07) choose, to bring the morals and ethics of this nation back into alignment.

(19:15) If it’s we, the people.

(19:18) Then we, the people all have a voice.

(19:23) The problem is Charlie lost his today.

(19:27) Let’s take a private moment and pray for Charlie and his family.

(19:33) God bless you, Charlie.

(19:36) It’s what you represent.

(19:40) That beats everything.

(19:47) Hi friends, Gene Valentino.
