Ted Tibbett, Zach Bone, and the “Velvet Hammer” is still here. You’ve got perseverance and we appreciate that. Little technical difficulty and a little stupid up here. Gene, use that favorite line of mine that you said just a little while ago: “It’s not my what?” “It’s not my fault.”
A little combination of everything. I did have a number in the wrong spot, so I’ll take a little bit of the responsibility. I’m the senior citizen of the bunch, so remember there are suits for elder abuse, so treat me carefully! Gene, how are you doing otherwise?
1:42
Well, it must be Donald Trump’s fault! Everything else is his fault, so I mean, you know, blame it on him. He’s taking a few bullets. Hey, how about last night, huh?
1:53
He was somewhere… where? In Oklahoma or Iowa? Where was it?
Texas.
Texas. Then at 8:00 this morning, he’s got an executive briefing going on in the White House with his team. Then by 3:00 Central time, he’s going to be between your studio and mine in Mobile, Alabama, for a 3:00… the gates open at 3:00 for a 6:00 rally Central time. This is… I mean, the man is bionic. He’s made of steel.
2:31
Are you going to it, Gene?
Well, I can’t because I had some pre-existing commitments and another network commitment that I’m going to be making commentary on. But I will tell you, I find it very interesting that a guy like him has to pick up the mantle for a Republican Party—well-intended folks nonetheless—but impotent in their ability to be bold and forthright the way the Democrats are in promoting their party.
3:11
I agree with that 100%. Ted and I were talking about that.
3:15
Why is that, Judge? I mean, we’re at such a good place in American history. Thank God we’ve held on to a president during all this turmoil.
3:28
Well, I don’t know, Gene. I really don’t. But some things come to my personal view, like where I’ve personally seen it lately in the state, and it’s just aggravating. They’re playing defense instead of playing offense. You want to win a ballgame, you’ve got to put points on the board.
3:49
Yeah, you’ve got to try to score in the last seconds of the game.
3:52
You cannot win a game totally on defense. You can’t.
3:55
I think they’ve gotten a little fat and sassy. I don’t want to talk about them too much. And then maybe there’s a slight bit of panic here late in the ballgame.
4:03
Well, panic doesn’t win ballgames either.
4:07
There’s no question there’s things to fix here in this nation. But I had a very interesting conversation yesterday with an executive producer at one of the networks. I won’t mention their name, but I was stunned about his tone about wishing Donald Trump wasn’t so harsh or hostile. And “why don’t we take back our forces over there in the Hormuz Strait and Iran’s issue and bring them back to the United States to lower the price per gallon?”
What do you think we’re over there for in the first place? It *is* the price per gallon. It *is* the economy. But what my woke friend needs to understand is that this is a global economy, a global political interest, and we’re in the process of dealing with a terrorist hijacking yesterday that was prevented from being ten times worse. And all of a sudden, it’s like those issues don’t matter in some people’s minds here in the United States.
They do matter, folks. Protecting our nation locally is just as important in your neighborhood and mine as it is in the Strait of Hormuz.
5:41
It’s more important in my opinion. [laughter] I mean, it’s grassroots.
5:45
Absolutely, Judge. Absolutely. I mean, we’ve been hearing in the news in the last 24 hours that the USS *Theodore Roosevelt* is pushing 7,000 sailors over there. You know what I’m thinking about is the 2,000 Marines tucked away on the USS *Makin Island*. It’s an amphibious assault ship. It’s not a conventional cargo ship, and it’s over there with horses, Ospreys, and other assault aircraft and equipment.
Why? Because we’re going to have to get a ground force going. Donald Trump is walking a tightrope right now to get through these damn midterm elections, and whether the Republicans are smart enough to win it or not, he’s going to take the lid off of Iran right after the midterms. But yeah, he’s being a little passive right now. But shame on the world for thinking that Donald Trump, for all the bluster, is not as aggressive a president in terms of assault-mode military as he’s been accused of being.
7:09
I mean, we have been reckless with some assaults in the past under Obama and under Biden, and reckless in our response in getting out of Afghanistan under Biden alone. But all that aside, we have a President Donald Trump who’s managing this thing like a master, like a conductor of an orchestra with 150 instruments. He’s got every instrument synchronized to the tune of what’s going to happen. And here he is between Texas, into Washington D.C. at 8:00 a.m. Central time this morning, back to Mobile, Alabama at 3:00 this afternoon. Are you kidding me? This man has done more for this nation… I frankly don’t know when he’s sleeping. This is crazy.
8:04
Gene, what is his purpose in going to Alabama? I mean, in my opinion, it’s a very firmly red state. What’s the rationale of him going? What is he trying to promote over there?
8:19
Well, that’s a good question, Judge, and it’s two-part. You go after the Democrats and the independents in one movement, but at the same time, you go back to the Republicans and keep them solidified. You know, the Democrats are brainwashed and in some sort of hypnotic mantra lockstep to a Democrat cause regardless, but not a Republican. In the Republican Party, individuality and self-expression are welcomed. And that means sometimes we have some broken arrows that stray. And we need to remind all Republicans that, yeah, some of the issues Donald Trump is dealing with are his problem, but not his fault.
9:14
Oh, absolutely. [laughter]
9:17
Some of these issues have come up because of the Biden administration’s recklessness. I remind everybody he’s doing in four years what the Democrats have been able to concoct with overseas strategies and conspiracies, like George Soros’ foreign illegal monies coming into the Democratic coffers illegally. He’s done so many things to try to stave off these foreign threats.
There’s less of a distinction between local, federal, and international these days. And the problem is many of the people in our local governance don’t understand what our constitutional republic is all about and how we were intended to govern as a nation. Our Founding Fathers would not tolerate this at all. This is not the nation they intended to create in their separation from Britain at the time.
10:23
You know, there’s something else involved in this. You can’t take anything for granted. You call a ballgame a trap game if you aren’t prepared for it. And I think one thing about Mobile like that is he’s serving Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. It’s kind of a triangle right there. You know, it’s within an hour of Gene Valentino, an hour of Biloxi, and the entire southern part of Mobile. But you know, I think a lot of us have been put to sleep, thinking, “We’ve got this thing made.” And unfortunately, Donald Trump is not running for re-election, people, by the way. He’s trying to save the Senate and the House so he can finish his term. And that’s a big deal we’ve got to do.
11:07
Well, that’s true. And he’s coming to Mobile in our backyard tonight. He’s spending the day dealing with intelligence and policy in Washington, and tonight he’s turning his attention to the midterm elections throughout the whole southern area and saying to all of us, “My eyes are set to the vision of the future, but hey team, you’re still part of the team.” Meaning the local Republican effort is not being overlooked; it’s not being taken for granted. In fact, it’s the stalwart. It’s the basis of our future going forward as a nation, and we need to protect it.
The real question: where does legitimate election security end—here’s the election security he’s campaigning on—and political intimidation begin? There are two forces. Some of my friends who are upset with me because of my support for Donald Trump think I’m too supportive of him. Well, you know, you fight fire with fire. I’m not going to bed with the guy, and he’s certainly a character and a personality I couldn’t live with too long. But it’s exactly what this nation needs: a real nasty bully to give a wake-up call, sir. Yes, a bully to take on the bullies who are trying to destroy this nation is what this guy’s all about. I mean, thank God for Donald.
12:48
I like the fact that he expelled a couple of the news broadcast people from it. I mean, the thing is, to be there is a privilege, okay? To be there and have the President speak to you, you are not guaranteed that. It’s nowhere in the Constitution.
13:05
That’s right.
13:06
They are allowed to have the people in there that they want. Now, if you cannot treat the President… I’m not saying give him softballs, I’m saying be respectful. And if they can’t do that, then they don’t need to be in there.
13:21
Well, oh, absolutely.
13:22
Got about a minute left in this one. Gene, your thoughts on where we’re at today and about a month away from the election.
13:32
Don’t be surprised with radical drops in the price per barrel, hovering the other day around $105, $106 a barrel. We’ll get it back down to $70, $80 a barrel, hopefully down to $60 a barrel. Some of my oil company stocks may not do so well because of the reduction, but keep in mind that there are two other areas of opportunity.
If you’re an investor, keep an eye on distribution, pipelines, and shipping because it’s more than just the drilling. Keep your eye on how we use a company like Chevron over in Venezuela to help with the refining effort. Keep your eye on incentives.
The real hero in this war in Iran is not our military buildup in the opening of the strait. The closing thought is it’s going to be our economic assault against Iran by locking the vault and their use of money anywhere in the world. China and Russia know it, and that’s what’s driving them crazy. They’ve got to get along with the United States because we’ve got Iran under our thumb. It’s just a question of when they cry uncle and break.
14:57
Hey, thank you very much, Gene Valentino. Unusual time, but we even had a little more time in this part of it. So thank you for joining us again this morning. We look forward to next week. And you know, everybody, don’t get too cocky. There’s still a fight in front of us, and it can be won in the last days of this. Keep going where we’re at. Good to talk to you, buddy. You have a good weekend. Everybody, enjoy. Take care. Gene Valentino.
