joining me now is Ashwani Jane, a Democrat strategist, and Gene Valentino,

a Republican political strategist. Great to see all of you guys. So, look,

Ashwani, according to a poll from Pew Research, 71% of Democrats support

showing ID at the voting booth. So, why are Democrats in Congress standing opposed to the the base of their own party?

Well, first, thanks for having me on.

Look, the SAVE Act will not let you vote with a stateisssued ID. It would require a passport or a B birth certificate as well. That’s a huge change that many voters don’t actually know about yet.

The problem is we already have verified votes through registration checks and signature matching. And there’s been no evidence of widespread voter fraud to

begin with, no evidence that undocumented immigrants are voting, and no proof that this act would make elections any more secure than they already are. The only reason we’re

having this debate is because the president still refuses to accept the results of the 2020 election. That’s not protecting our democracy. It’s simply indulging in a conspiracy theory.

Gene, is that true? Are you buying what Ashwani is saying here?

Ashwani is a nice guy, but I don’t buy it at all. I’m sorry. First of all, it has nothing to do with vindication about a 2020 election. It has everything to do

with something else in the act that’s just as important and that’s getting rid of the v uh the uh the the updating the

voter roles at the local levels that are not being done. And my understanding is a a driver’s license and voter a a

driver’s license ID with the picture on it qualifies you uh for uh being able to

vote. The issue is to clean up the roles and that the millions of other people not being able to vote. Yeah, there’ll

be millions of people not being able to vote. All right, it’s called illegal aliens. We want to make sure that it’s

credible. And uh Todd, I must admit I I agree with President Trump on this. This is the one to fall on the sword for.

We’ve got to uh get rid of the filibuster if that’s what it takes to get 51 votes.

You know, Ashwani, I I have yet to hear anybody testify in either the House or the Senate saying they were not allowed to vote because they did not have an ID.

I I haven’t heard anybody testifying to that. And I know there’s been a lot of talk in the media, but I’ve yet to actually meet one person who has been

denied the right to vote simply because they did not have a proper form of identification or could not get um a form of identification.

The issue with the SAVE Act, and if you listen to the president’s words, that’s what he’s banking on, is about voter fraud. Everyone agrees that only

citizens should vote, but that’s already the law. And again, there’s zero evidence of widespread voter fraud, or this issue would fix in the first place.

The question is whether we need to create new barriers for millions of eligible voters to again solve a problem that courts across the country say is

simply not happening. And we’ve also seen what happens when people push false fraud claims. Misinformation gets spread, courts get involved. There’s

just no evidence to back up what the Save Act claims that it would fix.

Yeah. And and yet, Gan, earlier today we heard actually Democrat Senator Raphael Waro, who certainly stands opposed to

the Save America Act, actually admit during his comments that illegals had in fact voted in Georgia elections. So

again, he’s saying it’s not a problem when in fact it is a problem. But beyond that, we also have the census to take into consideration and of course whether

or not, you know, we’re going to be counting all of those illegals which will impact uh the redistricting efforts in the House.

Todd, I was I was a county commissioner for two terms, eight years. I was front and center and saw firsthand how uh

votes of dead people and votes of people who were no longer in the area, who had moved on, who created multiple uh voters

that seemed to still be on the rolls for a given address, uh were then being uh

called out and used as a basis by which they’d vote in an election. They they were either dead or they had moved out

of the area. there is voter fraud and uh the only way to hand look you got 50 states with 50 different methodologies

and 50 different um secretaries of state managing all the counties and cities in their area in a different way on

managing this issue. Not one of them has an active plan in place to clean up the roles. this if if for no other reason

the SAVE Act needs to be passed to purify who a legal and entitled voter is and should be in the United States of

America. I want my vote to count just as much as yours. And the only way I’m certain of that is to make sure every

authority in all 50 states manages the purity and efficacy of the process and the and the pool of voters. Only

Americans qualified to vote should vote and that and we need the Save Act passed. We need to get rid of the filibuster to ensure it does.

All right, Ashwani, I want to go to another piece of legislation that’s about to be introduced on the House floor. Uh this is the assimilation act

from Congressman Andy Ogles. Uh he proposes the repeal of the 1965 Heartellar Act which would effectively

ban immigration from the Eastern Hemisphere. What say you?

Well, look, immigration bans do not make us safer and do not stop terrorism. All they do is punish millions of people from where they’re from, not what

they’ve done. The majority of terror attacks in the US are actually carried out by citizens or legal residents. Even the president’s own FBI FBI data shows

that the deadliest domestic terror threat in the US comes from white supremacists, not immigrants and not Muslims. And so if this approach is so broad that it treats millions of

innocent people like criminals, then you’re not improving security, you’re simply discriminating and missing the real problem and the real threat.

Jean, I’m going to let you respond to that.

I agree with him on that point. The Ogal’s Act um assimilation act is rather broad. It’s not an act itself. It’s

basically a valuebased screening of immigrants. And uh I I appreciate the

intent and the and the uh purpose and we definitely want qualified voters, but um

it’s too broad-based and its intent kind of ripples into other acts that are currently before Congress.

Well, the reality here, gentlemen, is that the last four terrorist attacks committed on American soil committed by immigrants from some of those very countries. So, had they not been here,

we’d have a few more Americans still with us today. Something to think about. Jean Valentino, Ashwani, Jane,
