Hi friends, Gene Valentino. Welcome back to another episode of Gene Valentino’s Grassroots Truth Cast. We try to cover
the gambit of issues as you know, political, social, moral, ethical, business, finance, and spiritual. And in
the context of that is a religious advocate, a Catholic priest from uh central Florida area, Father Frank
Pavone, often known publicly as Father Frank Pavone, and he is known also as an
American prolife activist, a longtime leader in the organization of Priests of for Life. Very interesting gentleman.
We’re going to get into many aspects of things he’s advocated for. He’s headquartered in Titusville, Florida. U
although he’s a Renea like I’m a Connecticut guy. So, we both ended up down down here in Florida for some crazy
reason. Maybe that’s a story unto itself. But um he’s been a strong anti-abortion
a activist and has had made has made several national appearances uh and as a strong supporter of Donald Trump as are
we uh have the privilege of meeting Father Frank a few times at different uh
conferences that we’ve attended and um from these kinds of experiences as you might guess uh very interesting things
um uh surface and you get to know a person better during that process. We’re going to have a conversation about
abortion. Right after this, hi, my name is Glenn Story. I’m the founder and CEO of Patriot Mobile. I’d love for you to learn more about Patriotmobile.

Uh we were together uh in person just recently and I love the work you’re doing. So, thanks for having me on today.
Well, it was during a simple coffee out in the lobby and we started talking. We swap cards and the next thing you know,
um, uh, I I find it most fascinating that not only did you mobilize me, but you’ve, uh, dedicated your life to
mobilizing the clergy, uh, and, uh, in this, uh, uh, anti-abortion
euthanasia approach. Uh it’s amazing to me also that under your leadership uh your group has expanded nationally and
internationally with developing ministries around the world uh focusing on healing uh after abortion as well.
Not only the anti-abortion movement but the postabortion issues as well is something I’d like you to expound upon.
It’s amazing how our moral and cultural uh positions on these kinds of issues
have transcended uh into righteousness and in this Gen Z generation. My words, how many coming back to the church?
Yeah, exactly. Well, you know, it kind of ties in with the the name of your podcast, which I really like. You know, that the emphasis on grassroots and the
emphasis on truth. This is how we move forward and this is what explains so many dynamics of what’s going on today.
Truth is truth. Truth is uh available to all of us. Uh much of it is self-evident and uh and it’s and it’s and it’s
stubborn. Truth is stubborn. Uh you know when we when we rebel against it, you know, we end up hitting a brick wall sooner or later. And that’s where in the
grassroots we are uh able to experience that. And this is why we’re making so much progress on issues like abortion,
the sanctity of life, and freedom itself as we enter into what I really believe is a golden age uh for America. Uh part
of this is, and you kind of referenced it briefly already, people want meaning.
Uh young people want meaning. They’re tired of being lied to. Uh they’re tired of being brought down dead ends, you know, with promises. Like, for example, the whole false promise behind abortion.
Oh, this is freedom. This is choice.
This is healthcare. And meanwhile, it ends up devastating individuals and families and relationships and and and and when they thought that they were
choosing a future for themselves, they instead were choosing something that destroyed their future. So, we keep hitting these dead ends, these brick walls, when we go down the path of
abortion, when we go down the path of transgender, when we go down the path of tyranny that that expresses itself in a thousand different threats uh to our
country. But the grassroots know how to receive truth. They seek truth. They know it when they find it.
And it is, like Jesus said, the thing that sets us free. So, it’s so appropriate that u um that this
broadcast is is is is given that the name that you’ve given it. uh and and we do see people returning to church precisely for uh the reason that it is
as as scripture says the pillar and bull work of truth.
Let’s talk about your efforts specifically within the organization.
How are you uh replicating your efforts nationwide?
We began as an organization of priests helping priests and uh Jean that was rooted in a lesson we learned from the
other side. Actually, we see the importance of clergy because the very people who launched the abortion movement in America saw the importance
of clergy. I personally knew Dr. Bernard Nathansson. He was if people look him up, you know, he was the the world’s largest abortionist and he was the the
one who the way he described it was I uncaged the abortion monster in the United States. This was prior to Roie
Wade. He helped ma make Roie Wade happen. And here’s what he said. He said, “We took a gamble that the clergy
would be silent on this and we won that gamble. The church was asleep.” He said, “We stole the issue from the church. We were there creating the abortion
industry and the church wasn’t speaking up.” And then he said to us as clergy, he says, “If you had spoken up, we would have never gotten away with what we
did.” That’s what we do to replicate our our our our um our strength and our and our efforts. Namely, the idea that if
you get one pastor, if you get one priest fired up about this issue, you are automatically affecting thousands of
other people. If you get a priest freed up in his own mind and heart to preach about this, if you get, as I’ve seen
many times in clergy conferences that I do, uh, one pastor awakened I, if you will, to the issue of abortion, uh,
you’re going to affect the whole community. And I’m not saying they were pro-choice before. I’m saying, you know, you have so many people, so many
pastors, they are pro-life. They know that this is contrary to the word of God. But that doesn’t mean that they
have the skill set necessary to conduct this this cultural battle. That doesn’t mean they’re giving it any kind of priority. That doesn’t even mean they’re
giving it any voice. When people say to me, well, why do you have something called priests for life? Isn’t every priest for life? My response is, well, we just helped with it to say so. And
and and that’s how we try to replicate this, you know, clergy training online, in person, uh, in different conferences and seminars, one-on-one consultation.
This is what my team and I do every day.
Uh, and, uh, and it’s and it’s bearing fruit. Uh, and as you said, and we could discuss further, it has blossomed into a multiaceted ministry.
What are conservatives and prolife uh Americans, why are they so confident and
joyful right now? What what should they be so excited about?
You know, Jean, this is this is such an important consideration right now. We are living at a time when the very
foundations and pillars that the proabortion movement has relied on for decades are being dismantled. What do I mean?
In order for our movement to go forward, we have got to have the freedom of religion.
Many people I mean abortion, you know, you can debate it without any reference to the Bible. All the scientific arguments are on our side. Human reason
is on our side. However, most people involved in this movement are in fact motivated by their faith. And if we
don’t have the freedom to express that faith, if we don’t have the freedom to take the convictions of that faith and then apply them in the voting booth uh
or in public public demonstrations uh of our convictions, marches and rallies and so forth. Well, then we’re never going
to be able to advance our cause. Right now, we’re living in a golden age of religious freedom. Thanks in very large
part to President Trump, to the judges that he has appointed, including on the Supreme Court, we have had over the last
just just take a handful of years, incredibly momentous religious liberty decisions. Uh friend of mine, and you
probably know him too, Coach Joe Kennedy, uh who won that case about praying as a public school coach on the ball field. The the the the Supreme Court said, “Of course you can do that.
This is America, you know, and this affects the pro-life movement. You know, we’re not talking explicitly here about abortion, although, you know, I was
president for for for most of the u the meetings that just concluded. There was a hearing about every month of President Trump’s religious liberty commission.
And uh those hearings were convened at his request to give him even more suggestions for it strengthening
religious freedom. And at every single one of those hearings, the pro-life issue came up because the rights of pro-life protesters have been under
attack. Biden and his administration threw peaceful, prayerful pro-life grandmas and grandpas into jail.
President Trump campaigned on on releasing those people and then he did it. So, it’s like, you know, I look at my fellow pro-life advocates and I say,
“Listen, there’s plenty of things to complain about. There’s plenty of things to be distressed about. Obviously, we’re not at our goal. Obviously, we need what I call a holy impatience.
However, right now, it’s incredible. The progress being made are the tools we
need for this movement are being strengthened. Religious liberty, freedom of speech, freedom to protest. President Trump has been attacking the bias in the
media, opened up free speech on social media with the help of friends like Elon Musk. uh wing what else? Bringing
universities in line. Look at what’s happened with the DEI and the transgender stuff, you know, with lawsuits altogether and and universities
like the University of Pennsylvania actually apologizing uh you know to the to the women who were who were harmed because men pretending
to be women were competing with them in sports. But but but he’s he’s reigning this in. Who does that help? that helps
the pro-life side, not the pro-abortion side. Um, fairness of elections, election integrity. Which side does that, which side is helped when
elections are fair instead of stolen and cheated? The pro-life side is h is helped. So, this is why in answer to
your question, I think we’re at a time where we have more reason to rejoice than ever. Even though we got big obstacles right in front of us, we all
know that. But my goodness, we’re in a stronger position and it’s getting stronger by the day. Well, one big obstacle that we seem to have overcome
was the recent overturning of the Supreme Court of Row versus Wade where Yes. But the problem is to from my point
of view is that abortion merely shifted back to a state policy issue. Uh
is that a win for you? Is that a transition in your work effort? What what’s going on with your organization because of that Supreme Court ruling?
Yeah, good good question, Gene. Let’s put this in perspective because I think that the pro-life movement still has work to do even to understand the dos
decision of 2022 which like you said reversed row vway. So what happened? I like to think of it in terms of the gears of a car
under row we were in reverse namely that the court the high court was saying to the to the states you may not protect the unborn at least until viability.
Okay, that was reverse. Pro-life laws would be passed, but then the courts would strike them down because of Roie Wade.
What do is it put us in neutral. So instead of the court saying you may you may not protect the unborn, the court
said you may protect the unborn. So you may not protect the unborn in reverse.
You may protect the unborn. So now if a state passes a pro-life law and the law is challenged in court as it always is
by the proabortion side, it doesn’t tend to get struck down automatically. Most of these laws are being upheld now. Now
we’ve got to get into drive. What does drive mean that the courts say you must protect the unborn. Why? Well, because the right to life is is in the
constitution. And that argument is being made by more and more pro-life attorneys that the right to life is actually there. And that just like we are obliged
to protect the born, we have to protect the unborn. We don’t want our lives protected in one state but not in another. Right? We don’t want our lives
protected only up to a certain age and not after that or before that. So to to we’re getting there. It’s a big win
because it has taken away a big obstacle. Now let’s understand something. First of all, people talk about oh it returned it to the states.
Okay. Well first of all it was always a state battle. The reversal of row came about or in fact first of all row came
about because of state laws. The reversal of row came about because of state laws. So the battle has always unfolded in the states and from row to
dos. There were dozens of Supreme Court decisions not all of them anywhere near as well known as Row and DOS but there
were dozens of Supreme Court decisions about abortion. They basically handled things like funding, parental involvement,
uh uh what physicians could and couldn’t do, how abortion could or couldn’t be regulated. Uh but it was always being battled out in the states. The federal
government does have a role and even after DOS still has a role. So I say with DOS, you know, it’s a 52
jurisdiction battle. 50 states, the District of Columbia and the federal
level, the Congress. It’s a battle on 52 different arenas. So, you don’t forget about the role of the federal. I mean,
the other side is fighting on the federal level. And one of the big battles now, of course, is the funding.
But yes, o overall it is a tremendous win. It’s hard to in fact, it’s hard to exaggerate what a big win uh it actually
is. As long as we understand what it means is keep doing what you were doing before.
It’s not that the actual work has to change that much because again as I explained you do the work of what? You
do the work of persuading people with the arguments, the evidence, the science, the ethics. You you persuade people. You get those persuaded people
to elect pro-life candidates. You get those pro-life office holders to pass pro-life laws. And then you get those
laws defended and enforced. It’s the same work. The difference is what happens at the end of that process. With
row out of the way, those laws will stand and save lives rather than be struck down. That’s the big difference.
The work to get there is very much the same.
Father Frank Pavone with Priest for Life with us today. Folks, we have um a lot more ground to cover with Father Frank.
Uh I I don’t know if your job gets harder or easier. Um but it’s not just
priests for life. I I have a dear friend right here in Pensacola, Florida, who is
a father who is um Dr. William Lyall, gynecologist, OBGYn,
delivered thousands of babies over his career. After 30 plus years as a physician, he retires and he’s doing what you’re doing. He’s out on the road.
He’s on a road tour nationwide trying to push the notion that um of the inhumity
of abortion. And do you know him? Have you been involved with him? What’s his role?
Yeah, we know him very well. As a matter of fact, he is one of the members of our priests for life medical advisory board
and he’s been on that uh role for a while. Uh you know, he um shows people something I’ve also been talking about
for many many years. Uh and another one of our medical adviserss talks about a lot. Dr. Byron Calhoun who’s a me who’s
a maternal fetal medicine specialist namely that the unborn child and this was said actually decades ago you can read it in you know that famous medical
book Williams obstetrics which decades ago declared medical science’s newest patient is the
unborn child. Now a lot of this has come about because of the ability to see the baby. So we know ultrasound ultrasound
has greatly increased in its um effectiveness. There have been some other methods used to embryoscopy where
the actual camera is placed up against the amniotic sack. But the bottom bottom line point that I’m making is the better that you can see the baby, the more you
can treat the baby, you can diagnose the baby if there’s a problem, be it a spinoipida or a malfunction of the heart
or even problems in the brain. And now if you can see, you can diagnose. If you can diagnose, you can treat. And some of
that treatment actually is surgery. So, as you’ve heard Dr. Lyall explain, and many audiences have, we’re actually doing heart surgery and brain surgery.
Yeah.
On this little baby in the womb that some people think is not even a person.
Here’s the irony, Jean. In the period of time that that that we have learned through medical science more about that
unborn baby than we’ve ever known in human history, in that same period of time, that very child has been deprived of protection. How does that make sense?
It makes no sense. And and and Dr.
Bernard Nathansson, whom I mentioned before, that’s how this biggest abortionist of all time ended up becoming pro-life through the science,
through the contradiction that he himself experienced whereby on one level of the medical building that he staffed,
these unborn babies were being seen, diagnosed, and treated, and on another floor of that same building, they were
being dismembered and thrown in the garbage.
the the human mind and the human heart cannot endure that kind of cognitive dissonance, that kind of moral
contradiction. And that’s why Dr. Lyall and I and many others share the confidence that this lie is not going to
endure. It’s doing a lot of damage while it’s enduring and it’s still got to be driven back, but it’s not going to endure.
The midterm elections politically, let me pivot for a second. uh unrelated uh but related. Uh we have a midterm
election coming up. We’ve seen some changes in the chemistry of the election process which has ticked off a lot of um
voters nationwide. We see the uh because of redistricting and the Supreme Court rulings on on uh on voter rights and
and creating parody and balance between the voter system.
Do you see a more Republicans, I hate to put it that way, do you see more people getting elected that are conservative
and pro-life during as a result of what’s happened on this redistricting issue?
I think so, Jean. I I you know, I’ve been expressing for about a year now um the kind of optimism that others have
have, you know, even more politically uh experienced have have expressed. People like Dick Morris, people like our speaker Mike Johnson have been
expressing confidence that this year 2026, we are going to buck the trend that we all know is characteristic of
American politics whereby, you know, if you if your party is is, you know, in the White House, you’re probably going to lose seats in Congress in the
midterm. And that’s generally been the pattern, as we all know, although it has there have been exceptions to that. I believe 2026 will be an exception to
that pattern. I think we’re going to win the midterms. Uh why? Well, you know, one of the things that I and others have been saying from for months now prior to
this recent Supreme Court decision out of Louisiana was that the whole redistricting effort is going to help us. And I think the Supreme Court made a
very very correct wise decision um to say you can’t use race a as a as a as a criterion for drawing congressional districts. You could use other things.
You could use other criteria. You could use political criteria, voter registration, voting habits. You can use all kinds of criteria. You just can’t
use race. And uh the the fact that they ruled that way is end is going to end up over the next few election cycles
because the states now are going to move at different speeds in terms of how they’re going to apply that court decision. Although I think they should
do so immediately. Uh you know, hurry up, get it done. But but some will wait till 28, some, you know, will wait
longer. Uh but the bottom line is it’s going to help Republicans already helping Republicans. Um but there are the dynamics too with this midterm. You
know, we work with the faith community obviously.
Uh we have a big big political outreach and as part of our work, in fact, we have a C4 organization called Pro-life
Vote. And um so we’re going around the country. We’re doing voter education. We’re doing seminars and everything.
We’re listening to voters. I I’m sure you had the same experience in the 2024 election. How many of our fellow
citizens did did you hear saying things like, you know what, this election is not just about this or that policy or this or that candidate or party even.
This is a battle between good and evil, between common sense and insanity.
Weren’t a lot of people saying that? And and and to me, what what that is it indicated was and we saw it in the
outcome that believers got into those voting booths. What what motivated them to get up and get out and vote? Of course, President Trump as an
individual, as a candidate, he gets people out of the woodwork. he brings forward the low propensity voters. Um
and and of course one of the downsides of these midterms is that he himself is not on the ballot. So the people who voted for him, even those low propensity
voters, maybe they hadn’t voted in, you know, many years or they came out to vote for Trump. Okay, we got to speak to them right now. We got to say, listen,
the very same motive you had for voting for Trump in 24, you got to get out and vote for Republicans in 26. Otherwise,
that president, did you elect that president for a two-year term or a four-year term? If we elected him for a four-year term, we got to give him a
Congress that’s going to protect and advance his agenda, which is our agenda as voters. So, but but the point is that
it is our agenda, and it’s an agenda that has been supercharged
with the awareness that yes, this is a battle between good and evil. It wasn’t always that way because, you know, you could have very, very good people on
both sides debating policies. Okay, fine. That’s part of the American process.
Policies are not the same as principles.
The principles underly the policies and represent things that we should all on both sides of the political fence agree on, except that we no longer do. The
Democrat party has rejected the very concept of truth, the very notion of freedom, the the the the very love of
God that our nation was built upon. They see religious freedom now as discrimination. They see truth as something you could throw out the
window. Uh you know, a man is not a man, a woman is not a woman. The only reason we can say that now is that we’ve been saying a baby’s not a baby. This is all
the rejection of truth. And and it’s like believers are looking at this and saying, “I can’t go along with this anymore. I can’t let this happen.”
Reason again getting to the main point here, the confidence for the midterms.
I don’t see that dynamic slowing down, getting diluted or going away or being forgotten. I see it still
front and center. Believers still see the battle between good and evil.
Democrats have doubled down on the insanity and I think that’s going to bring people out to the polls.
If I was to say to you that abortion statistics are not what they appear to be, how would you respond?
You would be very right and not enough people are saying it. Let let me let me uh explain why I say that.
It has become a common talking point uh Jean that oh well you know you know like we were discussing earlier row was
reversed uh but now there are more abortions than there were before and I say pause for a moment. We don’t know that for sure.
Abortion statistics are very tricky to to get a hold of. Let’s go back even even before the DOS decision reversed row.
Two main sources of abortion statistics, the Centers for Disease Control, a government agency, and the Allen Goomacher Institute, an independent
agency, although they used to be affiliated with Planned Parenthood, but now they’re more independent.
The CDC relies on the states to report abortion statistics, but for the longest
time, and is still true today, the state where there are the most abortions, namely California,
doesn’t report their statistics to the CDC.
So, you look back at the time during the under row, the numbers we had were way lower than the actual numbers of
abortions. Now Gootmacher Institute has taken a different approach.
Up to now they have gone to the abortion clinics proactively and said what are your numbers? How many how many abortions you doing?
So their numbers were always higher but still not the reality because abortionists are you know they I always say you can’t practice vice virtuously.
If your if your conscience is so twisted that you can kill a baby. you you know you you you you’re not going to find it hard to fudge statistics or not bother
keeping them at all. So uh besides all sorts of other malpractice. Okay. So the numbers were still uncertain.
Now that they’re even more uncertain why first of all and and other agencies that track abortions have changed their methods. Instead of going out to the
clinics and getting the numbers, they take a smaller sample now and then they project the numbers. In other words,
they’re guessing. They’re guessing. So, that’s problem number one. Problem number two, with DOBS now, the states
are going each their own way. Some are really protecting the unborn, and we know the numbers go down in those states. uh and others have expanded the
so-called right to abortion and even put it in their state constitution and so the numbers are going up. Uh but how do you track that now? You know, you you
can’t you can’t take the average number of abortions that an abortionist does because now they’re going from state to state. They’re changing the way that they’re organizing their clinics.
Clinists are closing, others are amalgamating. Uh people are crossing state lines. It’s very confusing for state departments of health even if they
wanted to report their statistics. And then you’ve got the chemical abortions and gan we can count to a certain extent
the numbers of these drugs that are manufactured and sold and some of them are sent out in the mail although most of them are still being distributed by the the brickandmortar uh clinics.
But the fact that an abortion drug is sold doesn’t mean it was taken.
Some people stockpile these drugs. In fact, they’re told by the abortion industry, you know, oh, you better stock up on your abortion drugs in case your
state bans abortion, you know. So, how many abortions are there by chemical abortions? We really don’t know. We really don’t know. The only group I’ve
been hearing really saying this besides my my my own is National Right to Life.
The National Right to Life Committee uh does an annual report on the status of abortion and they have a great research director by the name of Dr. Randall
Oannon and I was interviewing Randall recently uh and he was going through these very points and he said listen to
be a little skeptical about these statistics. Um and a final thing to keep in mind was we talked earlier about Bernard Nathansson. You know, one of the
ways that he launched the abortion movement back in the late 60s and tried to make it seem acceptable to the public
by by inflating and inventing the statistics by making it sound like there were tens of thousands more abortions
than than there actually were. He and his friends made it more acceptable in
the minds of people. And I’m suspicious that the abortion industry now, which has really got their foot on the on the
pedal for these chemical abortions, is trying to make it seem more commonplace than it is. Um, and a lot of it is
wishful thinking. So, I would be very skeptical about any kind of abortion statistics that we are hearing. One thing we do know is that when states
pass pro-life laws, uh, the, um, the the birth rates in those states increase. So we do see more
babies being born that we can track with a great deal of certainty.
Well, you know, we’re with Frank, Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life, but the statistics,
I mean, this isn’t just a Catholic thing. This is a this is a a faith-based at least a faith-based initiative
crossing over several several sects of religion. and and um and so I presume when you say priests for life, it’s
it’s many in the ministry of of Christianity that are that are fighting this cause. A few people I know who are
not Catholics are working this cause with you and that’s so admirable because it’s a life thing, not a Catholic thing.
No, that’s right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And as a matter of fact, you know, our ministry started as as Catholic priests, helping other priests, but it quickly
became interdenominational. One of the people who has helped to lead our organization, she worked with us full-time for 16 years, and she’s still
a member of our board, is Dr. Alvita King, known to all of us, you know, wonderful person. And, you know, and she, of course, she’s not a Catholic
herself, but she loves the she loves working with uh with us. And and no, I I have always had a a strong sense of the
the um the wider body of Christ being, you know, just first of all just the joy of of of proclaiming together that Jesus
is Lord uh cross-denominational lines has had been a centerpiece of my own my own uh spirituality. And secondly, you
know, the the fact of the pro-life movement is that it is interdenominational in the best sense of the term. You’ve got Catholics and
Protestant even as Martin Luther King Jr. said, you know, Catholics and Protestants together. And you know, and where are we together? We’re together in running the pregnancy centers. We’re
together in in in uh in election uh work and lobbying. And you know where else we’re together? Getting thrown in jail.
Now, I have never been in jail myself, but lots of peaceful, loving people have been thrown in jail for their pro-life activism. Not for doing anything
violent, but for for for getting the other side upset. And Where’s the where’s the heavy lifting right now?
What are you finding yourself um labored with in trying to in in in getting through your initiative?
Well, one of the key things right now is, you know, there are some states that have put and Virginia is a big battleground right now for what I’m
about to say. They’re trying to put unlimited abortion into the state constitutions. You know, like we said before, they want to they they they they
lost big with the DOS decision because the Supreme Court said, “Hey, we made a mistake by trying to say that abortion
is somehow rooted in the federal constitution. It’s not. It never has been, etc.” Uh, and do the DOS decision
also said it’s never been in any of our state constitutions. Well, the abortion industry responded by starting to put it in the state constitutions. And what
they do is they create these very deceptive ballot measures. I call it sound bite voting instead of using the legislative process where you have
robust debate and you have a lot of input from the you know people and debate among the lawmakers. Uh they have
this sound bite voting or let’s just put out this slogan onto the ballot. Oh, you in favor of reproductive freedom, you know, and all that all that stuff. And
people think it’s a good thing. And they end up with a policy that says you can’t even allow a parent to have a say in the
abortion of her daughter uh if if if she’s a minor. And you can’t even have a requirement that a doctor has to be the
one doing the abortion. And you can’t even have a limit even on abortions in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Healthy mother, healthy baby. This is extremism that the American people have never uh never ever uh embraced.
Well, that’s that’s one of the reasons I brought up the the DOS decision in the beginning. I feel I fear that the
federal system at the court level first has taken a punt and pushed it to the states. And then I see legislature
legislators running for cover, not wanting to not wanting to deal with it at all. Right. Um and and so folks like
yourself with these great organization, Priests for Life, for example, which is what you’re heading is um is is burdened
with the notion uh you’ve got to be unburdened, by the way, under certain political anyway. Um, so be unburdened,
but but you’re burdened by um by the fact that you’re you’ve got to try to ameliorate that which the federal
legislative system could not address. I don’t know how abortion in one state should be looked at differently from
another state. It’s still the same taking of life. It’s not like a So my concern is there’s I’m not too
excited about hearing conversation that pushes more regulation to the state when they
can’t get their election system in orders and they vary from state to state. I’m not sure how capable they are
of dealing with things like like abortion in some uniform way. And which begs the question, why should it be different from stateto state?
Yeah, it shouldn’t be when it comes to the fundamental question of the right to life. And this is a perfect time to be addressing this because 250 years,
right, since the Declaration of Independence was adopted. This is a great celebration. Uh and and here we could even we could talk a little bit about that too because I was just at the
rededication of America to God, that big big event we had on May 17th on the National Mall. Uh but what are we
celebrating the anniversary of? Of the Declaration of Independence, which asserts the right to life. It’s given by
God. And what does a declaration say? It is an inalienable right, which means no one can take it away from us. Government doesn’t give it. Government can’t take
it away. And governments exist to secure that right. Now, if we rediscover, gene,
those simple truths, which the declaration said are self-evident, then we’re going to solve this problem. We’ll be on the path of solving this problem
because you can’t say that the right to life is from God. It’s inalienable and governments exist to secure it. But you have it in Alabama, but not in New York.
Doesn’t work that way. It’s a fundamental right. So, we’ve got to rediscover what that means. And we’ve got to say, look, that’s like I was
saying before, reverse, neutral, and drive. Right now, we’re in neutral. The states are able to protect the unborn.
And praise God, a good 16, 17, 18 states now are saying, um, yeah, we’re protecting these babies right from
from the time their life begins, which is fertilization. Uh, this is a necessary step towards the way our
American system is created. We’re we are 50 states, right? with 50 legislatores, 50 different court systems, 50 governors, you know, we’re created that
way as a nation. But if we are, so that’s the states part of United States. But how about the united
part? What are we united about? We’ve got to be united on the principles of the declaration and one of those is the
right to life. So, so we’ve got to transition this issue now from okay, you know, look, the statewide efforts to the
extent that we’re making progress, it contributes to that final victory because we get a momentum going, you
know, we’ve got about, like I say, about 17 18 states. Now, if we get 25, 30, 35, you know, we’re getting to the point
where on a federal level, our lawmakers and our judges will be more emboldened than our president, uh, whoever it may
be in the future, will be more emboldened to say, “Yeah, you know what?
It’s time for a national policy here that affirms and a national court decision, too. Eventually, the Supreme Court has got a rule on this to say,
“Look, the right to life is essential to the very fabric of our of our
Constitution, and you just cannot allow anymore anywhere the killing of any of these babies in the womb.” That’s the
point where we have to get Well, that that kind of ties into where I was going. I mean, if you have different rules on abortion stateto
state, are you not discriminating in some sense?
Yeah. one state to another. It doesn’t uh putting your whether you support abortion or not the on face legally uh
no law school student would deny the fact that if you’re treating the issue differently in each state that you’ve
created a imbalance in the way the constitution the constitutional rights issues applies. It’s
the most it’s the most it’s the most unjust form of discrimination. They’re discriminating against the weakest uh uh uh smallest
children. And it makes no sense from the point of view of you know what what the words that are inscribed on the very building of the Supreme Court, equal justice under law. It contradicts that.
Yes. We’re with uh Father Frank Pavone, Fathers for Life, an uh US-based
organization out of Florida. And he had How big’s your network now, Father?
Oh, we’ve got uh Uh right now our supporters are about half a million.
And uh are they sort of like uh different interest groups around the nation uh with the outreach you’re ascribing to?
That’s right. We have there’s a nice intersection between our uh pro-life supporters and the MAGA movement. You know, we’ve got in fact we’ve got a a an
effort called pro-life MAGA where we we show the intersection of these two great movements, the pro-life movement and the the MAGA movement. And then we’ve got
people who are involved in the of course the different religious groups. Of course much of our audience is Catholic but that we’ve got the evangelical
support. And then we’ve also got a large segment we and we haven’t talked much about this yet uh of the work we do with healing people who have had abortions.
The whole family is affected by it. And we’ve got the moms and the dads who speak up about that. That’s a group of people called Silent No More. our silent
no more movement gives voice to their stories because when people talk about how devastating abortion was uh they’re warning others you know hey don’t go
down this road or if you have you know what just like we found hope and healing so can you uh so it is a beautiful testimony and then of course it speaks
to the wider issue of having a savior no matter what our sins are god is is not interested in condemning or abandoning
us he wants to save us so uh the silent no more campaign gives witness to all of that. So, these are some of our um
constituencies. And then we’ve got, of course, our political activists, uh people who are in the conservative political movement that very much are joined, uh with us in this battle.
The outreach to me is so and the education is so important. It seems that when people understand it better,
they’re more able to address it no matter what phase of pregnancy a woman might be in. And there’s um there’s a
there’s a male side of this, too. Uh what have you learned from uh the father
that um is involved in this? Uh I won’t call it a mishap. I’ll call it a maybe a a little less discretion that should
have been employed during this um engagement. But what do you find coming out of this um process with the father or father to be?
Well, fathers are obviously play a key role. You know, the other side wants to try to paint this as a woman’s issue, but that just isolates the woman. If you
say she’s the only one who has a say in this, well then you’re also saying she’s the only one that has to carry the burden of this decision. Why? A man
should be standing next to shouldn’t be backing away saying, “Oh, it’s your choice. It’s your choice.” Then he’s buying into the the propaganda of the other side. Instead, he should say,
“Listen, that baby didn’t come about from u by magic. You know, it was the two of us that came together. And whether we should stay together, that’s
a different question. You know, the solution is not always that they get end up getting married if they’re not married already. Uh but the solution is
support, mutual support. Let’s do the right thing together. Now, the fathers, you know, sometimes
that dad is all in favor of life, is pushing for the life of that child, is saying, “We can get through this.” And
sometimes he doesn’t even know that that mom aborted his child. Sometimes these dads are suffering because their child
was killed with them not them even knowing it, much less consenting to it.
And that’s a terrible wound for for any man. On the other hand, sometimes the man is more guilty of the abortion than
the than the woman because he she might be the one saying, “Hey, I I this is a baby. I want to I want to protect this baby.” And he’s the one pushing and
threatening uh or even forcing the abortion. We have seen that time and time again. In fact, we were discussing earlier these chemical abortions. And
sadly, we’ve got an increasing number of stories where where we’ve actually had uh uh uh dads uh who have taken these
abortion drugs and put them into that mother’s drink or food and and and she ends up aborting the baby against her
own will. That is pure evil. I mean, the abortion itself is evil. You add on top of that uh somebody pushing it on her like that. What a what a terrible thing.
So men have a big responsibility here and the healing work that we do for the moms that are, you know, repenting of
their abortions, the healing work we do includes the dads as well. And we see them coming to the Lord. We see them repenting of their sin if they did have
involvement. We see them grieving their their own children. And and we see them speaking up. And the more that men start
speaking up about this, the closer the sooner we’re going to get to uh the uh solving this problem.
Have you had the chance to talk to President Trump about this? I have. It’s been a great privilege of mine to be
part of his um both in the 2016 and the 2020 campaigns. Uh I was asked to be part of his advisory group on on
pro-life as well as his Catholic advisory board. the 2024 campaign, the coalitions were structured a little
differently and it was more under the umbrella of the faith office, but I’ve been involved in that too. So, I have been privileged to be able to be in
conference calls with him, uh, to have some, uh, direct conversations, to work through his close associates and cabinet
members, uh, and other adviserss to give input on the abortion issue. And I’ve always found, Gan, that that that you
know, as so many of of us and our colleagues have found that that he this is a man who who listens. You know, he’s a very decisive man, but he but he
considers everything before he comes to his decisions. and he’ll ask, you know, as has been written about him in many of
his biographies, you know, whether it’s the the the construction worker on one of his sites when he was doing real
estate or a a a waiter or waitress, you know, at one of his hotels. Um, he’ll
pay as much attention to the ordinary average American citizen as he will to the elite class of experts and
consultants, you know, and and and that’s part of his genius, you know.
He’ll listen. I love the story he tells about when how he got rid of the ISIS caliphate, you know, when he went over there and raisin Kane was talking to
him, right? And and he said, “Hey, we we can get this done in a few weeks.” What do you mean? Uh uh well, why why wasn’t I told that before? Well, sir, no one
ever asked us. Well, I’m asking you, you know, and he’ll get he gets to the the the talk about grassroots, right? Like
this podcast, you get to the This is a man he knows how to listen to the grassroots. So yes, I’ve had the opportunity to give input and I have
been just uh uh uh very impressed by the fact that uh this is a man that wants to get things done including on this issue.
Now he recognizes the political difficulty of the abortion issue.
Doesn’t he doesn’t uh uh you know oversimplify it uh in terms of the political difficulty and you know some people in the movement say oh you know he needs to be more aggressive on this.
But I go back to what I said at the beginning of our discussion. I don’t need him to do my job as a pro-life leader in the sense of, oh, give a big
pro-life speech, you know, about abortion and I don’t need the president to do that. I need the president to protect my right to do that and my tools
to do that and my freedom of speech and my freedom to protest. You know, we will get the job done. I am convinced the there’s enough people that know the
truth about this. We will get the job done. We will restore protection of the unborn. preserve our constitution cuz the constitution gives us the tools to do that. Preserve the constitution. Mr.
President, you are doing that and we’ll get the rest done.
