ECONOMIC DEVELOPENT: Gene delivered a Financial Incentive Ordinance for businesses creating more jobs.

FUNDING ROADS NOW: Gene developed, and the Governor approved, the Regional Transportation Finance Authority (RTFA) study, designed to jump-start funding for road improvement.

DISTRICT COMMUNICATIONS: Gene created his own Precinct Leader System allowing for greater accountability and accessibility.  Additionally, Gene continues to hold three “Coffee With the Commissioner” meetings each and every week throughout District 2.

BUILDING BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE: With Gene’s leadership, over $50 million in road projects and capital improvements have been completed or are currently underway in District 2.

QUALITY OF LIFE: Gene promised to improve our appearance. He sponsored the first Panhandler Ordinance of Law removing panhandlers from the streets.  Over 13 Code Enforcement sweeps were performed across the district and under his direction.  Additionally, he established the Arts, Culture and Entertainment Commission (ACE) providing more support for community arts.
